Implementation of Green City Surabaya: Overcoming Challenges of Local-Global and Green Capitalism Development

Green city is not merely an approach to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Instead, green a condition that should preexist achieve the SDGs. Nevertheless, in many cases, there are gaps implementation of policies. Therefore, this study aims evaluate policy Surabaya regarding extent which development model has supported realization SDGs set by United Nations (UN). To answer research questions, uses qualitative methods. Meanwhile, data collection methods used were in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted using interpretive thematic analysis, perspective for urban politics. This eventually finds implementing achievement Surabaya, even though it still shortcomings. The also resulted transformation into modern prepares investors developers produce sustainability feasibility as pro-environmental city. However, discovers order fully realize sustainable, humane, civilized city, needs conduct better coordination collaboration between stakeholders all elements society.
